Associate

We are looking for an Associate to join our Practice team here at BEworks! In this role, you will be part of an experienced team of passionate scientists whose everyday work contributes to making a real-world impact through scientific rigour. As an Associate at BEworks, you will be managed by a Senior Associate who will provide you with continuous mentoring and work within a highly collaborative environment that promotes curiosity, questioning, and stimulates learning.

What You Will Do

You will work as a management consultant on our Practice Team, responsible for project execution and delivery to our clients in the Financial Services, Energy & Sustainability, Healthcare, and Technology sectors. Every day is different depending on the projects you are working on, but you can expect to execute on management consulting projects through:

  • Client Discovery: evaluating data, uncovering client assumptions, understanding their knowledge, intuition, and priors; auditing their experimental capability

  • Research: gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing information and existing scientific research, including insights drawn from BEworks’ proprietary IP database

  • Ideation: generating solutions for client challenges based on scientific literature and through participating in team think-tanks and prototyping sessions

  • Experimentation: supporting the design and building of both large and small scale randomized control experiments of rigorous quality and exceptionally high standards

Your Background and Skills

We welcome candidates who have a passion for empirical behavioural research, are analytical problem solvers, and are driven by curiosity and continuous learning. Alongside this, we look for the following qualifications:

  • A PhD is required, preferably in one of the following areas:

    • psychology (preferably social, cognitive, or consumer)

    • marketing (consumer behavior)

    • economics (empirical or micro)

    • judgement and decision making

  • Post-doc and/or commercial/consulting experience would be an asset

  • Strong research methods capabilities for leading the design of complex, multi-staged

  • Strong statistical knowledge

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Deadline driven, organized, and able to manage multiple projects at a given time

  • High energy, self-starter who possesses a strong commitment to excellence

  • A team player with a desire to work collaboratively

  • Some travel may be required for key project milestone
